Winter Card Pack of 5

A pack of 5 winter-themed cards featuring my photographs. Blank inside for your own message (but perfect for Christmas greetings).

Each pack includes: Magpie in the Snow, Aviemore, Magpie Under Oaks, Skadi Series – Canada, and Skadi Series – Alps.

Magpie in the Snow and Magpie Under Oaks were both taken on a snow day in Tunbridge Wells, when it was still cold enough for the previous night's snowfall to be sticking to the upsides of tree branches and any leaves that had survived the winter weather so far. The magpies flitted between the ground and the branches – perfectly monochrome to suit their surroundings that day.

Aviemore is from a very wintery New Year's trip to the Scottish Highlands. The dreamy pastel sunset was a lucky encounter after following my nose up to the summit in Craigellachie Nature Reserve on a solo hike – where there was thick ice all over the path high up, and a fellow walker advised that I walk in the snow-covered heather and grass at the sides instead to avoid slipping. He also told me that the view was worth the effort, and he was not wrong.

Skadi Series – Canada and Skadi Series – Alps are both from a series of snowscape photographs made using a type of coloured film that gives a wash of colour over each frame. The colour is unknown until processing, giving a little unexpected magic, and the series takes its name from the Norse goddess Skadi.
