The Room in Venice, a colour photographic print.

Softness in Venice in summer. Leant into amongst the kind of classic Venetian interiors that would make Venus weak at the knees. Surely it is somewhere among these lamplit rooms and meandering canals that she finds a place to call home. Each bend, drape, and fabric-covered wall calling to romance. While her craftspeople yearn as much for the patches of exposed rough stone on the sides of buildings as they do for the frescos and deftly-carved marble statues.

Rough stone like callused hands, the hands of makers; milky jade water like satin bedsheets, the sheets of lovers.
